Basé sur le livre de Laura Mulvey, Death 24X a Second, Stillness / Movement est un film expérimental sur la symbolique de la fleur chrysanthème autour de la mort.
Nous regardons 24 fois par seconde une image fixe, une image "morte", qui fait illusion de mouvement avec l'utilisation d'un projecteur.

Pour ce film, pour placer cette fleur sur une tombe, j'ai eu besoin de la couper; et pour en faire le montage, j'ai eu besoin de couper les pellicules de films.

La fleur est déjà "morte" quand la personne en deuil l’emmène au cimetière, mais elle est symboliquement vivante lorsqu'elle gît sur une tombe. Tout comme la narrative d'un film qui ramène à la vie l'immobilité des images fixe par l'utilisation d'un projecteur.

Based on Laura Mulvey’s book, Death 24X a Second, Stillness / Movement is an experimental film around the symbolic of death and the Chrysanthemum flower.
​
We watch 24 time a second a still image, a "dead" image, that illusionary moves by the use of a projector.
In my film, in order to place this flower on a grave, I needed to cut it; and in order to edit my film, I needed to cut out the filmstrip.
The flower is already dead while the mourner takes it to the cemetery, but it is brought back to life as a symbol as it lies on the grave. Just as the narrative of a film bring the stillness of the images on the filmstrip back to life through the use of a projector.
